TONGYEONG ECO POWER
Company Overview
An energy company delivering a reliable power supply through LNG power generation.
TONGYEONG ECO POWER is an energy operating company established to enhance the stability of Korea's electricity supply and contribute to regional economic development.
Based on a 1,000 MW-class LNG combined-cycle power plant and a 210,000 kℓ LNG storage tank located in the Anjeong National Industrial Complex in Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do, the company delivers integrated energy solutions spanning natural gas import and storage through power generation and sales.
Power Business
TONGYEONG ECO POWER operates a 1,012 MW-class LNG combined-cycle power plant and conducts power generation operations, supplying electricity to the Korea Power Exchange.
By adopting GE's latest 7HA gas turbine model, whose efficiency has been proven in global markets, the company achieves industry-leading energy efficiency and operational reliability.
Through flexible adjustments in operating hours and output in response to real-time fluctuations in electricity demand, the company responds swiftly to market conditions. It also maintains high utilization rates by securing a competitive position in Korea's power dispatch priority system.
Natural Gas Business
TONGYEONG ECO POWER has secured differentiated cost competitiveness compared to peer generators by directly procuring LNG, the largest cost component in power generation.
As the first power producer in Korea to own a dedicated 210,000 kℓ LNG storage facility, the company operates a jointly managed system directly connected to the LNG supply infrastructure of the Korea Gas Corporation's Tongyeong Terminal. This enables flexible fuel inventory management and reductions in ancillary supply costs.
Leveraging its LNG storage infrastructure and approx. 40,000 pyeong (13 ha) of undeveloped land, the company is planning to expand into future energy businesses such as LNG bunkering, and still continues to grow into a comprehensive energy platform encompassing both power generation and gas infrastructure.
