safety as the top priority.
The safety and health leadership training took place at the
Daewon Media Center in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, as part of HDC's ongoing efforts to
enhance safety culture. Approximately 60 executives, including Kim Hoe-eon CEO,
Jung Ik-hee CEO, Jo Tae-je Construction Head, and Lee Hyun-woo Development
Sales Head, as well as team leaders and higher-ranking personnel from HDC's
headquarters, participated, demonstrating their high interest in safety.
Kim Hoe-eon, CEO of Hyundai Development Company, who
attended the training, emphasized, "Safety should be considered as the
foremost value and foundation of the company's competitiveness." He
further stated, "In addition to this, let's practice our core value of
ethical management, establish a fair trade order, and create sustainable value
through legal compliance."
As part of the HDC SAFETY-I ACADEMY, an educational program
operated year-round to enhance safety and health culture, the training covered
lectures and discussions on case studies related to the 2023 Major Accidents
and Disasters Act, initial responses in emergency situations, and also included
education on fair trade culture for cooperative management with partner
companies.
Continuing from the previous year, Hyundai Development
Company is operating the 'HDC SAFETY-I ACADEMY' this year as well. This academy
involves participation from executives, site managers, supervisory personnel,
safety and health managers, and even partner company CEOs. The academy consists
of six on/offline education courses tailored to various job groups, including
safety management, leadership enhancement, safety and health specialization,
winter education, job-specific training, and new employee courses.
This year, the program has been strengthened compared to the
previous year, with the introduction of a specialized safety and health course
and significant expansion of educational support for partner companies to
promote mutual growth and co-prosperity. Hyundai Development Company will
expand educational support for site-level personnel (managers and supervisors)
of partner companies, provide consulting for safety and health management
systems, offer diverse educational materials, and actively assist in their
utilization.
Furthermore, in January, Hyundai Development Company
established a safety and health policy focused on prevention to enhance the
safety and quality system. In February, the 29th Safety and Quality Committee
was launched, and through the declaration of the 2023 Safety and Quality
Management, employee awareness of safety was improved. In March, to strengthen
the activities of the Construction Innovation Team, which has been operating
since last year, 15 external experts were appointed as advisory members through
company-wide selection, including Kim Byung-ha, a consultant for the Seoul
Chapter of the Korea Construction Association, and Choi Yong-hwa, Technical
Research Director of the Korea Construction Safety Association. Additionally,
starting from April, the Quality Transparency System was introduced and
implemented across all sites, continuing various efforts for disaster
prevention and quality improvement.
