On February 21st, HDC Hyundai Development Company newly appointed Vice President Jung Ik-Hee as both the CEO and CSO (Chief Safety Officer).

CSO Jung Ik-Hee had begun his career at Hyundai E&C in 1995 and has successfully filled posts as Head of Management at sites in Seoul and the metropolitan area. Since 2020, he has worked as the Domestic Site Project Manager and Technology Executive, accumulating various experiences as a site engineer. As a site expert from an external company, CSO Jung Ik-Hee is expected to raise the safety and quality management level of HDC Hyundai Development Company to the highest in the industry with a transparent and objective perspective.

CSO Jung Ik-Hee will supervise overall safety innovation management as the representative in the respective classified and managed organizations so a company-wide level of safety, environment, health, and quality system, as well as the site construction management innovation methods, are concretely practiced at the sites. Specifically, safety-related tasks such as safety system advancement, inspections, calamity analyses, and countermeasure establishment, additionally with a “Construction Innovation Team (Tentative Title)” of internal and external experts, will be operated from the control tower of quality and environment fields to fulfill the 30-year structural safety guarantee in a practical way based on general site construction and quality management rights.

CSO Jung Ik-Hee stated that “In times of crisis, HDC Hyundai Development Company will return to its basics and do its best to prioritize client-based safety and quality as the No. 1 company value. We will achieve the best safety and quality control innovation in the construction industry. “

This new appointment of a CSO and reorganization after the Hwajeong-dong accident in Gwangju are part of the activities of the newly established Emergency Safety Committee (Chairman Lee Bang-Joo), and reflect the determination to newly construct a system from the basics to guarantee the safety and quality innovation of the company. Later on, HDC Hyundai Development Company will further strengthen its ESG Management System and reinforce continuous innovative measures as well as accident recurrence prevention to become a social company trusted by the people.
