HDC (Chairman Mong Gyu Chung) won the "National Tax 100 Billion Won Award" in recognition of its contribution to national finance as a model taxpayer company at the 53rd Taxpayers’ Day Celebration held at COEX Convention Center on March 4, 2019.
The “National Tax 100 Billion Won Award” is a presidential award giving to a high taxation corporation with a total paid annual amount of corporation tax (sum of self-assessed corporate tax and farming and fishing villages special tax) over 100 billion KRW. It has been awarded since 2004. HDC has achieved record-high growth since 2016 before the split-up. Consequently, it paid over 100 billion KRW in 2017 to receive the “National Tax 100 Billion Won Award”. Nine companies including HDC, E-Land Retail Co., Ltd., and LG Co., Ltd. won the “National Tax 100 Billion Won Award” on the day.
Byoung Gyu Yu, vice-president of HDC, said, “It is more meaningful to receive the “National Tax 100 Billion Won Award” at the time to make a new leap forward after transitioning to a hold company structure” and “HDC and HDC group will continue to develop with the local community by fulfilling the tax obligations and enhancing righteousness management.”
HDC has completed the transition to the holding company structure in 2018, and played the role of an investment company that manages affiliated companies, invests in businesses, and conducts real estate leasing service. Moreover, it leads to the growth of the HDC group through linkages between business companies and affiliated companies. End.
