On September 23 in New York, Mong Gyu Chung, Chairman of HDC Group and Korea Football Association, presented a special customized soccer ball to Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway and co-chair of the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) commission, (local time).

UN SDGs is the agenda adopted in 2015 by the UN consisting of 17 goals and 169 targets to solve the universal problems of the human race such as poverty, diseases, education and women, as well as global environmental problems, economic and social problems.

The soccer ball presented by Chung has the 17 SDGs printed on it in graphics, and Solberg will give these balls out to heads of state or influential leaders of the world to widely promote the activities of UN SDGs.

The ceremony was held as STEP Foundation chairperson Young Shim Dho, who is also a consultant for UN SDGs, made the suggestion to make soccer balls and Chung willingly agreed.

Chung also donated KRW 4 billion as a development fund for soccer in July, and is undertaking various efforts for the development of soccer in Korea by sponsoring youth soccer through scholarships.
