HDC has decided to develop a total of 16,180 apartment housing units (including rental housing) in 14 complexes this year. This shows marginal growth compared to the 15,579 units in 15 complexes completed last year. In particular, this decision is characterized by an increased focus on Seoul and the metropolitan area, where consistent demand for housing exists due to skyrocketing housing leases.
Starting with Suji Gwanggyo IPARK, which has shown a high rate of subscription competition (10:1), HDC is responsible for about 60% of all housing units in Seoul and the metropolitan area. This consists of 4,489 units in 5 complexes in Seoul and 4,734 units in 4 complexes in metropolitan areas. Beyond Seoul and the metropolitan area, it also plans to develop 6,957 units in 5 complexes in major cities such as Busan and Daejeon.
By business type, urban regeneration accounts for about 40% of this entire supply, which is 6,861 units. Urban regeneration project sites are characterized by stable supply based on the sale of units offered by housing cooperatives. As for HDC’s project sites equipped with corporate strengths and advantages, 1,373 units in 1 complex will be created. 2,205 units in Gocheok IPARK (private rental housing supported by the public sector) will be unveiled in the first half of this year.
As for urban regeneration sites covering 4 districts in Seoul, units in Sanga Hyundai in Dangsan will be on offer from March, followed by Jangwi 7 and Ahyeon 2 in the first half of this year and Gaenari 4-cha in the Gangnam area in the second half of this year. In addition to Seoul, housing units in Bagumul District 1 in Jeonju will be available in March, followed by Oncheon District 2 in Busan, Imgok District 3 in Anyang, and Geoje District 2 in Busan.
HDC has attained stable sales performance by securing excellent project sites for years and is expected to achieve solid business performance by emphasizing these excellent project sites, their marketability, and IPARK brand power this year as well.
